True Point of View Video – What is it?

This is a new and exciting concept that is shaking things up in the consumer electronics market.

True point of view video recording is all about taking video from the perspective of your eyes.  You record what you see without using your hands or altering what you are doing.

This type of recording is opening up countless video recording opportunities from extreme sports enthusiasts to soccer moms.  You can now put on a pair of high quality sunglasses and film what you see in high def.   You can record a leisurely bike ride, a baseball game that you are playing in, and millions of other things you can think of.

It’s quite astonishing when you think about it.  The kicker is that it all comes down to quality.  If you aren’t buying the best, don’t bother.  The reason that these are only coming out now is because it’s difficult to fit all of those high end parts into a lightweight pair of wearable and stylish sunglasses.  Many tiny companies have tried and failed miserably.  They often try to sell to the “spy camera” market.  Selling spy glasses is shady and the quality of those are ALWAYS terrible.

There are a lot of copycat cheap brands that you need to be wary of.  Those aren’t true point of view.  They are pinhole spy glasses and the difference between these and what I’m talking about is night and day.  Claiming to be 1080p high def is one thing and actually delivering on your promise is another.

If you decide to try these, and I highly recommend you do, make sure you are getting ones with a top quality gyro sensor so that the videos don’t bounce and jerk around as the head moves.  Here’s one last word to the wise; Buy trusted brands to avoid the mega pixel scam.   If the website of a company looks professional and you can find the products in any north american retailer outlets, you are most likely safe.
