Video Recording Sunglasses

The future of video recording is finally here. Small and high quality cameras are becoming increasingly common and even the way video is recorded is rapidly changing. Mounts, helmets, goggles and even sunglasses are becoming a “must have” tech gadget and are now able to record video in HD. It is making it so easy for people to record video and share their lives online in HD.

How many times have you said, “I wish I had that on video”?

We all go through life knowing this feeling of regret, and the truth is that until recently, there was nothing we could really do about it. No “normal” person is willing to lugg around a typical hand held video recorder all the time, even the small ones. They are too annoying.

Unless you are in the mood to haul out the camera, which is almost never, you won’t film anything. Your camera will just collect dust. You’ll always be “wishing you had it with you” and “feeling like such an idiot for not bringing it.

Good cellphone video cams were a step in the right direction in terms of convenience, but you still needed to hold them uncomfortably in your hand to take even mediocre videos. These will get better in quality, but the fundamental problems with them will always remain.

Now we are entering a new generation of video cameras known as Point of View (POV). These are cameras that take videos of what you are looking at from your perspective or point of view. They are becoming more and more common place in the outdoor sports industry. The pioneers of this industry used mounts to put cameras on helmets and also mounts for anywhere you might want to put a camera such as on your surfboard, parachute, car or motorcycle. Some of the top brands include GoPro and Contour

A new trend is starting to emerge in the POV industry where cameras are getting small enough and of high enough quality HD to be able to put in goggles and masks. Liquid Image is known for making Ski goggles that record in HD. The smaller POV trend is continuing and now you can even find HD video cameras in quite fashionable looking HD video sunglasses.
